Your responsibilities

With this exciting vacancy, you have the opportunity to create something from scratch: literally and figuratively. Royal Brinkman is continuing its existing branch in Canada and expanding westward into British Columbia and Alberta. This region is considered a significant growth market for Royal Brinkman and that’s why we’re looking for a pioneer to take on this challenge with both hands!

There is currently nothing: no office, no inventory, no team. You will be the one to set everything up.
In collaboration with our headquarters in the Netherlands, you will develop a strategic plan to launch and grow Royal Brinkman Canada West. You will identify the right location, build a network, and develop operational processes. As Business Developer Canada West, you will shape the new branch, enter the market, and build lasting relationships with partners and clients in British Columbia and Alberta.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Establishing the branch:

  • Selecting a suitable location and setting up an inventory position
  • Implementing ERP and CRM systems to ensure smooth operations
  • Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations and implementing company policies

Market development:

  • Mapping out the market and conducting product and customer segmentation
  • Identifying growth opportunities and developing strategies to double revenue within a few years
  • Acting as the face of Royal Brinkman in the region and building a solid reputation

Building relationships (stakeholder management):

  • Maintaining and expanding relationships internally with other departments and externally with key clients, suppliers, greenhouse builders, and other partners
  • Establishing long-term partnerships that contribute to the growth of the branch

Building a strong team:

  • Recruiting, training, and coaching local staff
  • Creating an inspiring work environment where employees can grow and contribute to the success of the branch

Your profile

You are a connector and entrepreneur at heart. You thrive on challenges and feel at home in a dynamic environment where nothing is predefined. You inspire people with your vision and build success step by step. Additionally, you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a commercial or managerial role, preferably in the horticultural sector or a similar industry
  • Experience in setting up new business units or branches is a strong advantage
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience in change management
  • A pragmatic, hands-on mentality and strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in English at a C1 level
  • Residency in or willingness to relocate to British Columbia
